First Day of Aesthetics School
I have been waiting for May 9th, 2018 for a long while now. How many of you have these dreams that feel so far out of reach? I will tell you, from one lost soul to another, I have been searching for what I want to do, what I'm meant to do, and how that will affect my life and others around me. My true purpose I know is to help others, inspire others, and to guide others. If this blog or even this post can impact one individual to go after their dream, no matter how small or how big, that will be more than enough for me. Okay, so lets get into this!! From a very young age, I have loved beauty, and skincare and overall just the foundation of it all. I started being interested in makeup as early as middle school. Luckily, I have a mother who allowed me to wear makeup or at least experiment with it at that age. My mother was and is a huge inspiration when it comes to beauty. I loved watching her do makeup, and she'd teach me tricks and especially what NOT to do. My mother is beautiful and doesn't need any makeup but It makes it all the more fun to experiment with new products with her and share our love of beauty together. We get to bond over that, and that is something so special to me, as a daughter. As I started learning through my mother, Youtube tutorials and a little bit of teaching myself and doing what I liked, people started to notice and give me compliments. They started telling me I had a talent for it. It was very humbling and I finally started to have more of an appreciation for it. I started researching different products and taking better care of my skin and also loving my skin. It wasn't easy to get here, but I did and I'm thrilled to be on this journey, and to be able to have this platform to share it with you. So, for people who don't know exactly, aesthetics refers directly to the health and beautification of our skin. Estheticians are state licensed health and wellness professionals. My first day was very enlightening. Just on the first day, I learned a whole lot. For anyone who is interested in going into this field, you will be learning a lot about the anatomy of the body, history of skincare, and skin diseases and things of that nature. If you're going into it, thinking its only learning how to do facials, it is NOT. I was well prepared knowing there would be a lot of book work involved, and I'm still just as motivated because I'm excited and curious about learning everything I can. Knowledge is power!!! Remember that. There will be a lot of hands on work towards the middle of the course. You get to work on your classmates, and get to work on paid clients as well. It is a very fun environment to be in. You make friends and share ideas with each other and learn together. I can't wait for what's to come! Thank you for reading.
